The National Riparian Service Team (NRST) – A joint USFS/BLM unit created to address grazing and riparian area management issues through an extended riparian coordination network focusing on cooperative riparian restoration.
USFS Air Resource management Surface Water data - The Forest Service Air Program has been actively inventorying and monitoring hundreds of lakes and streams since the early 1980's. This site makes most of lake and stream chemistry data available to the public.
Western Wildland Environmental Threat Assessement Center – A joint NFS/S&PF and R&D center to generate and integrate knowledge and information to provide credible prediction, early detection, and quantitative assessment of environmental threats in the western United States
Wildland Waters - A quarterly Forest Service newsletter for the general public
that highlights news, views, and current technological and
public policy information on local, national, and international
water issues.
Fish
and Aquatic Ecology Unit - The Forest Service Fish and
Aquatic Ecology Unit identifies emerging aquatic resource
issues, develops technology to help address these issues,
and transfers this technology to field biologists. The unit
works primarily in the western U.S.
Center
for Aquatic Technology Transfer - CATT is a joint technology
transfer venture between Forest Service research and management.
CATT provides aquatic biologists and land managers. with research
information, service, and training to solve specific problems.
The unit works primarily in the eastern and southern U.S.
National Riparian Service
Team - NRST is an interagency USFS/BLM/NRCS team chartered
to achieve cooperative riparian restoration.
Natural Resource
Information Systems - NRIS is designed to provide field-level
users on National Forests with a common set of basic data
and data standards to support for natural resource decision
making.

processes research work unit working on understanding linkages
among physical and biological processes and human activities,
with particular focus on steep, forested landscapes of the
Pacific Northwest.
Laramie Forest
Sciences Lab - Rocky Mountain Research Station Research
work unit that focuses on aquatic and riparian ecosystems
in the Central Rocky Mountains and Northern Great Plains.
Reno Forestry Sciences
Lab - Rocky Mountain Research Station research work unit
that is home of the Great Basin Ecosystem Management Project
concentrating on the restoration of riparian ecosystems and
watersheds.
Flagstaff Forest
Sciences Lab - Rocky Mountain Research Station research
work unit pertaining to sustainability of riparian ecological
systems in Southwestern forest and woodlands.
USFS
Community-Based Watershed Restoration Partnerships - The
site contains information about the 15 watershed partnerships
initiated by the USDA Forest Service to demonstrate innovative
ways to improve watershed and habitat conditions at a river-basin

Hydrologic Engineering
Center - HEC incorporates state-of-the-art procedures

USGS Hydrologic Instrumentation
Facility - (HIF) provides hydrologic instrumentation support
to the USGS and other Federal agencies and serves as a center
for the collection and dissemination of information concerning

National Weather
Service Hydrologic Information Center - NWS information
about current hydrologic conditions, current flooding, and
climate.
National Atlas of the
United States - The updated National Atlas is designed
to provide a reliable summary of national-scale geographical
information. This Atlas updates a large bound collection of
paper maps that was published in 1970.

Hydrologic Benchmark Network - The Hydrologic Benchmark
Network was established to provide long-term measurements
of streamflow and water quality in areas minimally affected
by human activities. The network consists of 56 benchmark
basins.
Cooperative
Research Centre for Catchment Hydrology (Australia) -
Australian cooperative venture bringing together skills and
resources to address important issues in land and watershed
management. Australian hydrology literature and perspective
on many issues.

Words Dictionary - A compilation of water, water quality,
environmental, and water-related terms by the Nevada Division
of Water Planning.
Watershed Management Council
- WMC is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to
the advancement of the art and science of watershed management.
Its members represent a broad range of watershed management

American Water Resources Association
- AWRA is a national multidisciplinary scientific society
exclusively devoted to water resources devoted to information
exchange, professional development, and education about water
resources and related issues

Institute of Hydrology - The purpose of AIH is to enhance

a profession. AIH is the only nationwide organization to offer

Project - FISP was created to unify the research and development

studies. FISP is a source for sediment sampling equipment
